Siemens has announced the phase-out of part of its SIMOTICS S-1FK7 Generation 2 servomotor range, starting on October 1, 2026.

This announcement concerns so-called “migratable” 1FK7 motors, i.e. part numbers for which Siemens has defined successor products within the SIMOTICS S-1FK2 or S-1FT2 motor ranges.

Siemens 1FK7 phase-out timeline

The affected 1FK7 servomotors will be phased out progressively:

  • October 1, 2026: product phase-out announcement (P.M400)
  • October 1, 2031: planned discontinuation as standard products (P.M410)
  • September 30, 2036: planned end of spare parts availability

However, not all 1FK7 servomotors are affected. Some versions for which Siemens does not currently offer a suitable successor remain outside this phase-out announcement.

Migration to SIMOTICS S-1FK2 and S-1FT2

Siemens has identified S-1FK2 and S-1FT2 servomotors as possible successor products for the affected 1FK7 models.

However, these motors are not necessarily 100% compatible with existing 1FK7 servomotors. Technical differences exist, particularly regarding the connection system, and modifications may therefore be required when replacing a motor.

It is important to check the exact motor part number and the machine specifications before considering a migration.

What are the options for Siemens 1FK7 users?

For companies still operating machines equipped with Siemens 1FK7 servomotors, this announcement is an opportunity to anticipate future maintenance and replacement requirements.

E-Servo offers several solutions for Siemens 1FK7 servomotors:

These solutions can help extend the service life of machines equipped with 1FK7 servomotors and prepare for the progressive phase-out of the range.
